Spotlight isn’t a youth club, or a youth centre – it’s a multi-million pound creative youth space designed to inspire.

It has been launched last in July. Next to Langdon Park DLR, it has taken four years and £7 million to complete. Poplar HARCA has led and funded a third of the project, partnered by Langdon Park School, The Tower Project, Poplar Boys & Girls Club and Tower Hamlets Council.

The aim is to create a place where young people can learn to think creatively, gain confidence and pursue opportunities they may have not thought possible.

Indeed, it has been shaped by young people, for young people. It offers free, state of the art sound, film, design, art and broadcasting facilities, alongside performance, dance, boxing, fashion, styling and chill areas. Encouraging young people to get involved, experience new things, grow in confidence, gain skills and thrive – be it through using all those activities and opportunities!

Spotlight is partnered with organisations like the National Theatre, IMD Legion, CM Sounds, Candoco Dance Company, East London Radio, Dulwich Picture Gallery and many more to deliver world-class programmes.
