Vosgelis is a social housing provider dedicated to social inclusion. Recently, Vosgelis launched a new educational apartment in Vittel. The apartment is designed to support older tenants in adopting sustainable living practices and to enhance their experience of home care. By demonstrating different equipment, the apartment highlights the diverse support available to facilitate independent living for as long as possible.
Inside Vosgelis’ educational apartment…
The educational apartment is equipped with a wide array of equipment, allowing older tenants to engage in hands-on demonstrations within a safe environment. Considering that 37% of Vosgelis’ residents are aged 65 and over, with many experiencing isolation and economic insecurity, this initiative takes a proactive approach to addressing tenants’ needs.
From a stair life to a sock threader, Vosgelis understands that providing the opportunity to try out tools and devices, ask questions, and get advice can significantly boost residents’ confidence. In addition, by showing the changes people can make to live more sustainably, the educational apartment can empower people to reduce their environmental impact.
Since it opened in 2022, the educational apartment has been so popular that Vosgelis equipped its other two educational apartments in Golbey and Saint-Dié-des-Vosges in the same way.
Vosgelis’ services to empower older residents
In 2015, Vosgelis introduced the Habitalis brand to help ensure that older residents can live independently for as long as possible. The programme includes a wide range of support services offered by Vosgelis and its partners. For instance, Vosgelis’ customer relations department maintains regular contact with some 500 older residents at risk of isolation. Additionally, Vosgelis provides 65 places in supported living apartments.
