Previously, Sybille Wegerich studied business administration (Diplombetriebswirt) at the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel. After completing her studies, she was the assistant to the Executive Board of the Frankfurter Siedlungsgesellschaft and branch manager of the Deutschbau Immobilien, Düsseldorf.

Following this, Sybille Wegerich worked at the ABG Frankfurt for seven years, changing over to the GAG Köln as Chief Operation Officer in 2010. She began her role as CEO of bauverein AG Darmstadt in 2014.

bauverein AG is the largest housing company in the south of Hesse/Germany. Established in 1864, the bauverein AG group of companies is owned by the City of Darmstadt. Its main focus is the building and leasing of residential and commercial properties. Its stock includes around 17,000 dwellings and the team is made up of 314 employees.

The bauverein AG portfolio includes free financed as well as publicly financed dwellings. The share of social housing within the housing stock is comparatively high. Subsequently, of especially great importance are the climate-neutral modernisation of the residential portfolio, the construction of the residential properties, and digitalisation.

Sybille Wegerich is an active member in many committees and forums on the national and the European level. She is married and currently lives in Frankfurt am Main.
