We were pleased to see so many people at the first meeting on the year. The online meeting examined data governance and digital information management – a topic that affects the work of all colleagues in public and social housing companies.

Stuart Hitchman, Topic Group Co-Leader, gave a briefing on the data strategy and governance model at Rooftop Housing. We examined the data strategy objectives, including:

• Continually improving customer experience using data to inform decision making;
• Improving data culture and literacy across the business;
• Improving data governance;
• Developing an analytics operating model;
• Improving data architecture by enabling data integration.

Discussing the related actions to achieve these objectives, it was very interesting to compare the challenges we face in our organisations and the methods we have used to overcome them.
