Russinet: Collective housing for people over 50

LKF is committed to ensuring that everybody can benefit from a high-quality living environment with access to amenities and social opportunities. The Spoletorp Russinet project is a collective housing complex designed specifically for people over the age of 50, offering a unique blend of private and communal living. Situated in a prime location, Russinet provides shared facilities and organised social activities that foster a strong sense of community.

The Spoletorp Russinet housing concept

SpoletorpRussinet is the result of a collaboration between LKF and the economic association Russinet. The 27 apartments are rented by LKF to the association, which then in turn rents them to its members. The project ensures that residents can living a secure and well-managed environment, specifically designed to be age friendly.

Applicants must be over 50 years old and not have children living at home. The apartments are arranged around a central patio and garden, making shared spaces a natural focal point of daily life. This design encourages interaction, creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all residents.

A project preventing isolation

One of the standout features of the Russinet project is its aim to prevent social isolation. The combination of a central location and communal activities ensures that residents remain active and engaged.

The complex is in central Lund, close to cultural activities and essential services. There are good transport links, including for commutes, and many everyday facilities are within walking distance.

In addition to their own private apartments, residents have access to shared facilities, including:

  • Guest rooms
  • A library
  • A TV room
  • A sauna
  • A shared kitchen and dining room
  • A shared garden
  • A hobby and exercise room
  • A glazed roof terrace

Everybody must take part in cooking and cleaning responsibilities, contributing to the community spirit of the complex.

Thriving social activities

The Russinet association organises a variety of social activities. These include movie nights, seminars, book clubs, and group outings.

Residents can also participate in special interest groups, such as:

  • A gardening group responsible for maintaining the shared outdoor space
  • A library group
  • An interior design group
  • A computer group

These initiatives provide meaningful opportunities for residents to get to know their neighbours and to share their skills and interests.
