Engaging tenants in climate-friendly behaviour

14 July 2025

The Eurhonet Talent Academy was fully booked again this year. Twenty-four ‘rising stars’ from the public and social housing sector headed to Brescia, Italy for a week of new skills, broader perspectives, and strategic thinking.

About the Talent Academy

The professional development and wellbeing of our employees is a top priority. We want to build rewarding working environments that attract and retain talent. The Eurhonet Talent Academy is a unique opportunity for employees in the public and social housing sector to learn from housing experts, CEOs, and each other.

Each year, we focus on a pressing issue for public and social housing providers. This year’s topic centred on effectively engaging tenants in climate-friendly behaviour. Participants worked in small groups with colleagues from different countries and disciplines. Their task was to develop concepts that drive user awareness and behavioural change. The diversity of perspectives in each group is what makes the Academy such a rich experience.

A new concept for inspiring climate-friendly behaviour

Taking on the role of a consulting company, the teams had to develop a unique concept, going beyond what we already see in our organisations. Participants explored the savings potential – in rent costs and CO2 emissions – and how these can be achieved through low-investment measures.

During the week, we also focused on skills development through a number of seminars, study visits, and skills workshops. It is also a unique moment to network with peers from different European countries.

At the end of the week, the teams needed to put all they had learned into practice. They presented their new concepts to a professional jury, gaining feedback on their ideas from CEOs in public and social housing housing.

It was fantastic to hear so many great inputs and see such collaborative working. We were impressed by how everyone embraced moving outside their comfort zone, came together as teams, and delivered engaging presentations about their concepts.
