NEW Early Careers Programme launched

19 June 2024

Eurhonet is proud to launch a brand-new staff development opportunity for our members. The Early Careers Programme is specifically designed for trainees and early careers professionals to build professional skills and broaden their knowledge of the European housing landscape. It also serves to attract new talent to the public and social housing sector.

Each year, a select group of participants will be hosted by the Eurhonet Secretariat in Brussels, Belgium for a 3-day programme. The first edition will take place on 9-11 October 2024.

Professional development for all colleagues

“At Eurhonet, we believe in providing professional development opportunities for colleagues at all stages of their careers. To achieve excellent services for our tenants, it is crucial to look beyond our national borders. We are therefore thrilled to welcome early careers colleagues in Brussels – the heart of the European Union – to explore the broader European housing landscape. I’m very much looking forward to meeting the first cohort of participants in October,” said Alessandro Cesale, Director General, Eurhonet.

Explore the European housing landscape

The Programme will include a combination of study visits (including to the European Parliament and the European Council), workshops, and seminars. Participants will broaden their perspectives of the European housing sector, be introduced to the process of policymaking and how it impacts the daily work of practitioners, as well as understand the role of knowledge exchange networks in our sector. The group experience will help to involve the next generation of colleagues in knowledge-sharing and network building, as well as develop team building skills and build professional connections.

We are pleased to welcome colleagues from our partner Housing Europe as guest speakers on EU policy during the Early Careers Programme. Housing Europe is our sector’s representative body at EU and international level; it is therefore the reference point for housing policy in Europe.

Comprehensive offer for Eurhonet members

The launch of the Early Careers Programme will strengthen Eurhonet’s offering for our members. In addition to Topic Group activities and workshops, Eurhonet now offers four staff development programmes:
