According to the European Environment Agency, Europe is the fatest-warming continent in the world. Over the past decades, it has been experiencing extreme weather and climate-related natural hazards such as droughts, forest fires, heatwaves, and heavy rain. Climate change will contribute to make these events even more frequent an intense, increasing the pressure on communities, infrastructure and housing providers.
Our upcoming Sustainable Construction Topic Group, hosted by ACER Ravenna in Ravenna, aims to address the aftermath of extreme events by exploring examples of recovery strategies.
Recovery strategies after extreme climate events
The meeting will focus on delving into measures to implement in order to overcome the challenges caused by extreme weather events. As part of the meeting, we will be visiting the areas affected by 2024 floods and storms, discovering how ACER Ravenna is currently dealing with the reconstruction.
Flying Experts Workshop
We will work in small groups during the Flying Experts workshop, focusing on a pilot side by ACER Ravenna
