‘Mon Appart’ is an inclusive and innovative housing project for young adults with autism, located in Avoine (France) and managed by Touraine Logement (a member of DELPHIS). The project was developed in direct response to needs expressed by young people, their families, and local associations.
“It’s my place. I’m starting my life”
The residence is designed for young adults with autism who wish to live independently while benefiting from structured support and strong community connections. ‘Mon Appart’ helps to build autonomy and self-confidence in a welcoming environment.
Until the residence opened in 2022, there were no suitable housing solutions in the local area that offered this combination of independence, support and community connection. ‘Mon Appart’ therefore fills an important gap in creating more inclusive neighbourhoods.

“What I wanted was a structure where I could see my daughter leave with a smile on her face.”
‘Mon Appart’ includes 16 studio apartments of around 28 m². There are also communal areas to encourage interaction, mutual support and the development everyday skills.
Dedicated staff members organise a variety of group activities, including crafts, cycling and woodwork, to help create a thriving social life.
The interior design carefully considers specific sensory needs (e.g. lighting and sound) to ensure that all the residents feel comfortable.

“It’s a way, finally, to picture yourself in everyone else’s life.”
Located in central Avoine, close to shops, services and public spaces, ‘Mon Appart’ makes it easy to meet and interact with the wider community during daily activities. Residents live active civic and social lives through the combination of personalised support and openness to broader community life.
The success of ‘Mon Appart’ is the result of strong partnerships – in particular, between Touraine Logement and ADMR (Aide à Domicile en Milieu Rural [Home Help in Rural Areas]). ADMR is a social enterprise that helps people who are experiencing difficulties to live better in their own homes. Other key partners included the Departmental Council, the municipality, and a number of sponsors.
