We are pleased to invite you to the Social Integration Topic Group Meeting, taking place on 20–22 May 2026 in Mannheim, Germany, hosted by GBG-Unternehmensgruppe.
During this three-day meeting, we will exchange experiences and explore approaches to strengthening social value and community engagement in housing. The programme will combine member presentations, workshops, and study visits across Mannheim’s neighbourhoods.
Exchange on Social Value
During the meeting, we will focus on how housing organisations can foster social cohesion and community wellbeing within neighbourhoods.
Participants will share short presentations highlighting challenges or successful examples of creating social value within their organisations. These exchanges will offer an opportunity to learn from different approaches and discuss practical solutions.
The programme will also include a workshop on the Inner Development Goals (IDG) framework, exploring how organisations can integrate its dimensions into their work and strengthen their social impact.

Study visits in Mannheim
During the meeting, we will take part in several study visits across Mannheim, offering first-hand insights into neighbourhood management and community development.
We will visit Quartiermanagement Herzogenried, where a long-standing neighbourhood management system supports local engagement and community initiatives. We will also explore Neckarstadt-West, a district that serves as a pilot area for GBG’s neighbourhood development approach.
The programme will conclude with a visit to Franklin, a newly developing district in the northeast of Mannheim, where innovative neighbourhood projects are being implemented.
