We are glad to invite you to our upcoming Ageing Topic Group meeting on 23–24 September. The meeting will take place in Varberg, Sweden. Our colleagues at Varbergs Bostad will kindly host the meeting.
An ageing population
As of 2026, 1 out of 5 people in the EU are aged 65 or over, and people aged 80 and over are the fastest growing age group.*
Against this backdrop, the aim of this Ageing Topic Group meeting will be to explore how housing companies can create environments that support independent living, social inclusion, and a high quality of life for older residents.

Sheltered Housing
We will be delving into the key concept of Sheltered Housing. Through discussions and visits to Varbergs Bostad’s sheltered communities, we will reflect on how the spaces between buildings play a role as important as the buildings themselves.
Future Neighbourhoods
We aspire to build neighbourhoods where people of all ages feel safe, connected, active and at home.
By sharing experiences together and learning from one another, we can contribute to creating thriving neighbourhoods that are not only functional, but also vibrant and inclusive.
